Ever had a time in your life where you hear/see/experience the same message from multiple points at the same time? We've been experiencing that a lot in tha past year at GCC. Right now, Chad is teaching on the Holy Spirit. Awesome stuff. Well - everywhere I go - be it an online sermon, morning radio or talks with other friends - it's been on how the Holy Spirit works and is working in our lives. Fantastic!
So I flip over today's Billy Graham page-a-day calendar and this is what it reads:
As we trust in Christ, God gives us the Spirit as a pledge, or, as some translations read, earnest or guarantee. "He...put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come" 92 Corinthians 1:21-22). In the apostle Paul's day, a deposit or pledge did three things: it was a down payment that sealed a bargain, it represented an obligation to buy, and it was a sample of what was to come...The Holy Spirit in our hearts is God's pledge or deposit to us - sealing His commitment to save us, guaranteeing that some day our salvation will be complete, and enabling us to experience its joys right now.
Good stuff.

That is good stuff! I call them "God-coincidences." I was talking to a dear friend this past weekend, who I deeply respect in the Lord, about this very subject. I think it is amazing the way God confirms certain truths and even exact scriptures to His children in a short span of time- (just so we recognize God's hand in it all, I think!)
The scripture that comes to mind is 2 Corinthians 13:1 ".....EVERY FACT IS TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES."
As a matter of fact God used your blog to be the third witness for the very truth of that scripture that I just mentioned. (I read it first in a book, then I had the conversation with my friend wher she mentioned that very scripture, and lastly I read your blog on the subject of "confirmation or validation as you put it!)
Cool, cool, and very cool!
I know!! I just love it when God makes his voice clear!
